Federalism

"Mr. President, in the excited times in which we live, there is found to exist a state of crimination and recrimination between the North and South. There are lists of grievances produced by each; and those grievances, real or supposed, alienate the minds of one portion of the country from the other, exasperate the feelings, and subdue the sense of fraternal affection, patriotic love, and mutual regard. " This quote is expressing the problems between the North and the South. Both sides have resentment and outrage and is causing a divide between the country.  I chose this quote because I think it somewhat relates to what is going on in the world today. Although we are not necessarily divided into the "North and South", we are definitely divided. The hatred  between the right and left side of this presidency and the protests against the police, has to stop. Revisiting the Constitution: We Need Term Limits for Federal Judges

I couldn't exactly choose a quote from this article as I think everything is very self explanatory. But I would like to comment on it and share my opinion. I agree with this article very much. I don't think it is right to have a judge serve for "several decades". As much as I understand that longevity and experience are some of the best qualities to have in your career, however, in this case I don't think so. Keeping someone in a position for a long amount of time isn't giving any room for a fresh set of eyes, or a smart young judge to come along and be up with the times instead of being stuck with ways and traditions from 30 years ago when they were just starting.
