Power
"A majority (57%) of Americans believe the federal government today has too much power. Most of the rest say the government has about the right amount of power. Few say the government has too little power. Americans were least likely to be concerned about the government's power in the years immediately after 9/11, but half or more since 2005 have said it has too much power."
This quote is pretty clear. It is simply stating that most of our country believes the government to have too much power and the rest say the government has just enough power with very few people saying that the government doesn't have enough power.
I am a believer that the government has just enough power if not too little. I think that the government should have great control on this country. If our government wasn't as "powerful" as people say they are to be, I think this country would be completely upside down. I understand that people think the government is is everyones business and basically "spying on us", but I tend to disagree. I don't think the government wants to know every move that every American makes, I think they want to be able to keep a tight control on things so when bad people are doing bad things, they can catch it quickly. After 9/11 there wasn't much concern with the government's power because this country needed our government to stand behind us after this horrible event. However, once America was able to move forward, everyone was back to saying the government has too much power.
